Essay / Research Paper Abstract

A 3 page essay that discusses imagery in the Gospel of John. Rather than offering nativity story, the Gospel of John begins with a hymn that pictures Jesus as the incarnated Word of God. This presents the first of multiple images of Jesus, which occur throughout this gospel, which relate to how the relationship between Christ and the Church should be perceived. Examination of this gospel shows that John frequently focuses on images that relate not only the life and ministry of Jesus, but how these events should be seen in light of Christological belief.
