when the nation of Palestine was doing everything in its power to ethnically eradicate the Arabs in the country. There are those who argue that Peppes work is not necessarily
very valid and is based on information he has manipulated to fit his thesis. There are also those who argue that is work is incredibly valid and truthful, as well
as enlightening. The following paper analyzes and reviews Peppes work. Ilan Pappes The Ethnic Cleansing of Palestine It should perhaps be understood that to truly know the validity,
and thus the worth, of Pappes work one must likely do a lot more research than will be entailed herein. One would need to seriously do further research into the
sources provided by Pappe and research into other historical documents to truly comprehend and decipher the truths, or untruths, in the work. As such this paper will ultimately just offer
up an analysis/review of Pappes arguments based on knowing little of the time in history. Pappe makes some very strong statements when he notes how, as has often been
the case in history, "the expelled are then erased from the countrys official and popular history and excised from its collective memory."1 This was due to what was known as
Plan D, which was apparently, according to Pappe, a plan to seriously work on exterminating the Arabs. And, according to Pappe there were as many, if not more, than 800,000
Arabs were uprooted. Some were apparently killed as well. This is a very serious issue and one that should well be examined, as is the case in the work.
It should perhaps be noted that according to another author this Plan D was actually implemented because the Arabs were threatening Palestine at the time: "Yigal Yadin...adopted Plan D on
