social, economic and political circumstances." This has long been the way in which politics work as ideologies are foundations whereby certain parties seek to change or direct elements of society,
the economy, and the political entity of a nation. While this has strongly been the case in the history of the United States it seems that there is less and
less ideology that separates one party from another. However, this does not mean that ideologies do not still exist, and it does not mean that those ideologies do not still
influence the direction the nation takes. The following paper examines how ideologies are still alive in the United States. Ideologies For the most part, in society today, the
ideologies that directly originate from politics involves the democratic and the republican parties. While there is a great deal of room for deviation in the ideologies of both parties, there
is also a very obvious sense that the two are on oppositie sides of some issues and thus ideologies. One particular author notes that the republicans, referred to in
terms of conservatives, "believe in a social hierarchy of haves and have nots" (Conceptual Guerillas Strategy and Tactics, 2006). While this may seem to be a relatively negative and narrow
perspective the author illustrates, through economic endeavors, how the republicans have long been a party whose ideologies are not aimed at helping any working class individual but in making the
nation wealthier through big business. The author illustrates the following: "Cheap labor Thats their whole philosophy in a nutshell...cheap-labor conservatives are defenders of corporate America - whose fortunes depend on
