Essay / Research Paper Abstract
3 pages in length. The first issue identified from the user's perspective is the manner by which user interface is inextricably interconnected with interaction design; in order to appeal to a general audience, the interaction design must reflect a pleasing user interface. This may be defined in any number of ways, not the least of which includes aesthetics, smooth contact with site resources (links) or ease of maneuverability. In short, if the user interface is too hard to understand or does not provide for a pleasing experience, the product has no value to that user. No bibliography.

general audience, the interaction design must reflect a pleasing user interface. This may be defined in any number of ways, not the least of which includes aesthetics, smooth contact
with site resources (links) or ease of maneuverability. In short, if the user interface is too hard to understand or does not provide for a pleasing experience, the product
has no value to that user. Another identifiable issue is how user interface exists in myriad formats that are incorporated into everyday life. A cars instrument panel and console,
cellular phones, thermostats, word processor applications and retail Web sites all share a common denominator of representing user interface. As such, the interaction design of these products must appeal
to consumers in such a way as to encourage purchase response; therefore, understanding the intricacies of user interface is a critical component to product value according to Lecture #2:
* The interface is the means by which users control an object and/or their environment * The quality of the interface design is critical for the well being of the
individual - user experience, safety, etc. * However, many interfaces have not been designed with the user in mind This is where
a third identifiable issue comes into play: creating usable interface. Indeed, there is no separation between interface and product; if the interface is confusing or unappealing, the product will
be reflected in the same negative light. By contrast, an interface that draws out interest, enthusiasm and/or appeal will reflect a positive outlook toward the product. A pertinent
example of this as used in Lecture #2 is how the Florida ballots were so utterly confusing that voters could not figure out which holes corresponded with the items they
