tat raises many new issues and creates different challenges and barriers. There are many advantages that may be realised with the use of technology, the development of competitive advantages or
the avoidance of competitive disadvantages, increased information flow to enhance the decision making processes. For many companies IT has opened up[ the possibility of providing IT services as well as
using them, creating a new sector and as such IT becomes an operational issue not only in internal use but in the supplier and services that are provided. By looking
at two organisations; Microsoft and Siemens Business Services the main operational concerns can be outlined with the consideration of how technology may be better used and better developed.
Microsoft Microsoft is not just a company using information technology, but a major supplier if software and operating systems. This increases the scope and scale of operational concerns. The issues
that concern Microsoft may be seen as those which are currently seen in the industries that use their products. This becomes an operational issue due to the management of these
