Essay / Research Paper Abstract
This 19 page paper answers four questions asked by the student. The first outlines the use and advantages of a distributed network, the second looks at controlling and monitoring the system using an embedded TCP/IP and how IPsec can be used for security. The third looks at the use of remoting, what it is and how it can be used. The last part of the paper examines web services, what they are, examples of their use and some examples of vendors. The bibliography cites 36 sources.

remain constantly aware of the impact of the decision they make and the way they choose to proceed. This paper considers four issues that may be considered by a company
which wants to remain competitive and gain the benefits of increased flexibility and efficiency from IT whilst still being aware of security issues and future needs for compatibility. By
looking at these different aspects in a single paper the wider context may be considered. Question 1 There are many issues
regarding they way a network is put together, how resources are used so that they are maximised, and delays or overflows are reduced. One system that is used in networking
is the distributed environment with the files distributed as opposed to a centralised system . The distributed network is an environment and infrastructure in which the network resources, such as
the processors and switching equipment are distributed throughout the geographical area being served. Control of any network will either be distributed or centralised (Compaq, 2001). A distributed computing
environment (DCE) works because of the way in which the system interacts between the different systems that contain the DCE components. This is facilitated by a remote procedure call
vehicle that is considered a fundamental middleware piece of the DCE (Compaq, 2001). The DCE needs a special source code that is accessible from the Open Group. If a
company wishes to use DCE on their networks, usually at the vendor level, then this source codes needs to be included in the operating platforms (Compaq, 2001). The DCE
also has within several middleware services which also can live above a specific operating system once they are converted (Compaq, 2001). When they become available these sources will be
