in some form or fashion, whether it be to buy supplies from companies, to perform joint research or simply to collaborate (Nelson, 2001). When the Internet was first opened for
commerce in 1993, businesses were simply trying to get a handle on this new way of communicating and promoting. These days, of course, a business without some kind of website
or presence is not likely to stay in business for too long. But because the Internet is still so new, various aspects
of e-business are still being ironed out. "Netiquette" is providing a whole new way of interacting with people and virtual businesses. By the same token, legalities, moralities and failures are
still up for discussion. This paper will discuss all of these. The Legalities of Online Business The Internet, by its
very nature, opens up a can of worms when it comes to both legal and ethical ramifications. Copyright and libel, for example, are pretty basic - for example, its a
lot easier to take a quote from someones online work and reproduce it in another piece of online work (Understanding Legal Issues in E-Commerce, 2007). Additionally, slander or libel is
spread much faster online than it used to be in print. But even aspects that arent quite so dramatic are cause
