States, that Islam as a religion would be blamed in part for the attack. However, the truth is, there seems to be more converts to Islam than their work
prior to the terrorism attacks. Although finding exact statistics to support this assertion has been difficult, there is enough literature on the Internet to support and provide proof that
Islam has attracted a growing number of followers in the face of this rather catastrophic event. This paper will offer some examples of this literature and use it to
support the assertion that Islam has the higher number of converts since 9-11 than before the attacks. Sajid Igbal, who is editor
of The Revival Magazine, and online publication dedicated to all matters Islam, pulled together an interesting selection of articles to support the facts that 9-11 helped spur converts to Islam
(Igbal). "You would have thought that the September 11 attacks would have damaged the name of Islam for ever, but you know what . . . It made many people
study Islam to understand who exactly the Muslims are and what theyre all about," Igbal wrote (Igbal). He also goes on to say that "a huge interested Islam since
September 11 has brought a massive increase in conversions to Islam as never seen before" (Igbal). He proves his own assertion by
presenting a series of articles and headlines such as "Interest in Islam mounts after hijacking atrocity," which was seen in Englands publication The Observer; "Allah came knocking at my heart,"
written for the London Times (and which indicated that one Dutch Islamic Center claimed a tenfold increase in Islam converts); and an article written for the California North County Times
