the one that is probably the best one to follow. This is especially true when it comes to making investing, financing or
dividend decisions for a particular firm. Financial managers face interesting quandaries on a daily basis; namely, making the right decisions that will help maximize value to the firm while decreasing
liability, debt or other factors that can lower a bottom line. Such decisions are extremely important, especially under certain circumstances. What, for
example, is the best way to handle a company that is in financial distress, and that might be headed for bankruptcy? In such a situation, the financial manager is responsible
for improving liquidity, reducing outstanding debt, better managing assets and slashing capital expenses. But what financial decision is the best one in such cases?
It is the purpose of this paper to discuss some of the decisions inherent in trying to get this firm out of bankruptcy, and to determine the consequences
