In any survey, its hoped (and assumed) that both survey designers and interviewers are objective in their tasks - there is no room for subjectivity in survey work when
the goal is trying to get the best possible result on a particular topic or issue. Yet interviewers and survey designers are
only human, and occasionally that "taint" of humanity will find its way in the interview process. One such result of this can be inconsistency error. Inconsistency errors occur when interviewers
or raters arent consistent when it comes to asking the same questions to sample participants, or not using the same variables or standards when it comes to revaluating the results
(Myers, 2004). One example of an inconsistency error can occur when a researcher has completed her survey work and has the results
in front of her. Lets say the research involves collecting data as to what constitutes a successful entrepreneur. The independent variable in this particular case would be the entrepreneur. But
where there might be an issue with inconsistency is in the types of questions asked these entrepreneurs. In one particular case, the
researcher might find that, out of the 70 entrepreneurs surveyed, half of them were asked the open-ended question: "To what do you attribute your success in your business?" while the
