hospital. The one weve selected for this process is Childrens Hospital of Philadelphia. While we havent actually talked with the marketing person, what follows is an example of how such
an interview might read. How is marketing planned, coordinated and conducted at Childrens Hospital? Well, our mission is to be the
world leader in advancing healthcare for children by providing outstanding patient care, cutting-edge research and being a quality teaching hospital. Because of that, marketing efforts reach into all levels of
that plan. We need to market to patients, of course, so theyll chose our hospital over any other in the area.
We do this by being very visible in obvious ways, such as community presentations, and not-so-obvious ways. This could include creating an emergency guide and distributing it to various zip
codes throughout our coverage areas. The idea is that every time they look at the product, theyll see the Childrens Hospital logo and will hopefully think to call us in
case of an emergency. The research end of things also requires some marketing and, in a way, creates marketing. If one of
our doctors, for example, is able to discover some new kind of vaccines from cases, that looks pretty good on our experience list. But we need to promote ourselves as
a quality research center to get those doctors and clinicians here. These men and women have a lot of choices as to where they can go, so we have to
