to the economy. The latest hurdle has come from the US Government who is poised to ban internet gambling due to its supposed addictive qualities. Is there a solution?
As usual, the government is out of touch with what its constituency are interested in. Most of the people polled state that the benefits to the community, the good characteristics,
of online gambling are overlooked. Not only has the online gaming industry boomed, but this money is taxable income, which generates more revenue for the running of the country. To
curtail the industry would be to figuratively cut off ones nose to spite ones face. Secondly, online gambling has been one of the leading proponents of advanced technological advances.
Advances have included, and will continue to advance in the use of blue-screen and split-screen compositing, in which two or more separately shot scenes are almost seamlessly merged, as well
as computer animation, and digital graphics. Computerized motion-control of cameras to create a realistically changing point of view that takes viewers in, around and through the action(Nova, 2002). Many technological
advances have been made, not only in the area of special effects, but in the area of sound, color, home video, and sound effects (which are usually done through the
Foley process). Conceivably, the entertainment industry will have changed so much over the next decade so as to make the early eighties seem technologically primitive with its floppy disks, Beta
