Yet during the 1980s, as the world and business community became more global, colleges and universities began introducing business degrees to meet the unique needs of doing international
business. Roosevelt University in Chicago, Thunderbird in Arizona and a handful of others introduced specific masters in business programs to meet the needs of students considering taking their business expertise
into global markets. These days, a student would be hard pressed to find any business school without some sort of international component.
With the term of globalization becoming more common and more and more businesses seeking out opportunities far from home, there is a need for graduate students who have been educated
about international business aspects and factors. But schools more and more are finding out that theres more to turning out the ideal international business student than simply cramming theories of
international accounting or international marketing into his or her brain. The successful international business student will be well-trained in a variety of areas and expertise in addition to the regular
business curriculum that he or she might have signed up for. But what is international business? In its most basic definition, international
business is described as "transactions and activities that occur between people or organizations from different countries" (Gannon University (b), 1998). Furthermore, there are two categories of international business activities --
