Prehistoric Computers, a fictitious company that sells refurbished laptop computers through direct marketing to individuals and small businesses in the Midwest, is considering incorporating each-business practices in order to
help boost revenues and increased sales. The purpose of this particular paper is to determine how technology -- more specifically, the Internet -- can be used (or even if it
should be used) to help the company reach its goal. We will have to assume at the outset that the answer to
the question of whether or not the company should invest in a web site is yes. The company is based in Arkansas, its market is the Midwest, it wants
a global reach as part of its strategy, and the most cost-effective manner to extend that reach is through cyberspace.
However, although it has been decided that a Web presence would be a good thing, there is more to go when online than simply slapping up web site and hoping
people will come. The standard adage when it comes to success on the Internet is make sure the web site is good, or dont even bother creating one or
putting it on the Internet (McLean, 2000). Once it has been established that a presence on the World Wide Web is desirable,
