2007). The market is one that is accessible, but still developing, in order to access the markets it is important that the markets are understood, this means looking as issues
such as the segmentation of the markets. These will help increase understanding of the current stage of development, the needs of the markets and the potential drivers. 2. Segmentation
There are a number of ways in which the ICT market in the Middle East may be segmented. This may be by the type of equipment that is sold as
well as by country and customer types and even by the way it is sold. Looking at the equipment this may be seen as the most relevant segmentation. There
are three general segments which may be further subdivided. These are telecommunications, IT services, hardware, software, internet, and office automation. These are all aspects of ICT but some may be
seen more in demand at different stages of ICT development. The development of ICT requires the presence of a suitable infrastructure, one of the first stages of the development
of communication. This may include wired communications such as telephone networks; these are required for the provision of later services such as internet by way of dial up and broadband
