The apostle Paul, who is the reputed author of I Corinthians, explains that music or language without charity is nothing. Moving mountains and understanding all of lifes mysteries have no value without charity (love). Even all the acts of charity which a person may bestow on others are of no value if it is not done with love. Paul directs us to have faith and celebrate the truth of faith. Love never fails. This chapter and these particular verses of the book of I Corinthians addresses the importance of love above all other attributes of religion. The importance of love and the ability of anyone who loves are stressed. Any act of kindness, any speech of kindness, and any thought of kindness is nothing without charity (love). The premise of the movie What Dreams May Come focuses also on the power of love. The story line is that a woman loses sight of the importance of what she still has in her life after the death of her children. Then when her husband is killed in an untimely accident, she further loses her capacity to love herself or others. She is so consumed by her grief and her lack of faith, that she commits suicide. Upon arriving in heaven, her husband, Chris, becomes aware that he and his children are in heaven, but he wishes to unite his entire family, including his wife.
