strategic, bright; and discreet. Apparently he was not discreet enough, as on October 28, 2005, Libby resigned his post just hours after being indicted by a grand jury
who had charged him with obstruction of justice, two counts of perjury and two counts of making false statements. As a result, I. Lewis Libby has become the main focus
of many newspaper articles. The purpose of this paper is to compare and contrast two newspaper stories which have been written concerning this matter. COMPARE AND CONTRACT TWO SEPARATE NEWSPAPER
ARTICLES: THE NEW YORK SUN AND THE CHRISTIAN SCIENCE MONITOR On October 31, 2005, just three days after the indictment, the New York Sun ran an editorial entitled Pardon Libby.
This particular newspaper article is focused on the generality of a law which has resulted in the indictment of Mr. Libby. The article contends that Title 18, Section
1001 of the United States Code is too general. The article goes on to explain the stance of the Supreme Court regarding this law. It is obvious that the
article is an Editorial as it is full of opinion and phraseology which is not typically of a straight forward news article. The primary focus of the article is
that President Bush should step forward and pardon Libby now before this issue becomes a quagmire of controversy. The article concludes by contending that the office of special prosecutor
