but in modern society slavery is not really accepted in any developed nation and as such it becomes human trafficking. In many cultures, in the past, human trafficking was a
natural part of many societies, with slaves having the ability to become members of the culture that enslaved them, or slaves being used as economic power in trade and in
relationship to owing one tribe or another. But, today this is not the case. Today human beings are used as items to be traded illegally in many different ways. Human
trafficking can be prostitution or it can be enslavement to different types of labor. Human trafficking can be the oppression of children through pornography, or the outright reality of slavery.
The following paper examines human trafficking. Human Trafficking First of all it should perhaps be understood that while many individuals will claim human trafficking is a problem in
many third world countries, or other countries outside the United States the truth is that human trafficking likely takes place to some degree in all nations of the world, including
the United States. For example, in one work the authors examine the trafficking of children in American society, indicating that "The adage that the more things change, the more they
remain the same, seems to apply here; Minors have been, are, and apparently will continue to be the most sexually exploited class of citizens in the United States" (Campagna; Poffenberger
3). Still yet, as it relates to the United States, "Every ten minutes, a woman or child, is trafficked in the United States for forced labor" (King 19). Such information
clearly indicates that while the type of human trafficking may differ, or the outright obvious nature of trafficking in the United States may differ from the rest of the world
