of the realization of humanitys divine rights, with the accompanying realization that God is the source of all "rights," and "Divine Love is the ultimate source of power and
authority" (Anonymous 9). Throughout the Bible are stories that illustrate these principles. For example, First Samuel, chapter 25 relates how David had to flee into the countryside to escape the
murderous intent of King Saul, whose jealousy was ready to deny David all "rights," including the right to live. In his wanderings, David protected a wealthy landowners sheep and herdsman,
which , according to custom, entitled David to request provision during the harvesting time (Anonymous 9). The landowner refused to acknowledge this right, and David lost his patience. Abandoning his
reliance on Gods righteousness, he became determined to seek revenge upon the landowners family. However, before he could do so after raising an army, he was met by the landowners
wife, Abigail, who had loaded down donkeys with food and supplies and set out to find David (Anonymous 9). Abigail realized that Davids rights preceded from God, superceding her loyalty
