competitive, production costs are the highest in the world, and productivity and high labor costs are hurting them. They decide to cut their losses and expand outside of
the United Kingdom. Azam Ali, the Human Resources Director broke his silence at a meeting involving company heads and claimed the firms problem really comes down to not having
a people strategy. All agreed that the direction the firm would need to go in is the development of a human resources strategy. Still, expansion and relocation plans should
also be included in a grand strategy to save the company. Key factors that Global Cars need to consider in formulating a strategy include the issues of cultural diversity because
their plants are located throughout the world. Other factors will include of course country factors that are not readily apparent and need to be researched. At the same time, basic
strategies will rest on the corporate vision and mission statements. It is important to devise a mission statement first before proceeding with specificities. How does one go about designing
a mission statement and objectives? A mission statement is simply a statement that denotes an organizations purpose, or reason for being (Radtke, 1998). It should be presented
