Introduction The philosophy and scholarship of Plato is laid out clearly throughout the historical records of Western civilization, as are his writings and discourses. In comparison, the collection
of scholarship about Aristotle is most often presented as it related to that of his mentor and teacher, Plato. Both left modern scholars with a long and fascinating history
and insight to human nature. It is important to keep in mind that Aristotle had been Platos student, then fellow teacher, for nearly twenty years. After Platos death,
Aristotle left the academy in Athens and went to Pella, the Macedonian capital, where he became the tutor of Alexander the Greats son. In 335, when Alexander became king, Aristotle
returned to Athens and established his own school, which became known as the "Lyceum." For, literally, millennia, the thinking of these two ancients have been instrumental in the development
of human thinking and an awareness of what constitutes the basics of human nature. Their lessons and attitudes are still relevant as teh world enters the 21st century and still
offer valuable insight into why people are the way they are. Plato and Aristotle Quite obviously, each of the philosophers has earned his rightful place in the historical encyclopedia of
