to the life all the griefs, sorrows, fears, doubts, hopes, cares, perplexities, in short, all the distracting emotions with which the minds of men are wont to be agitated" (Gillespie,
2006). Psalm 22 is often referred to as the Psalm of the Cross because it begins with the words of Christ as he hung on the Cross: "My God, My
God, why have you forsaken me" (Psalm 22:1; Matthew 27:46). The last words of this Psalm are related to the last words Christ spoke on the Cross: "for he has
done it" (Psalm 22:31). "Jesus said, "It is finished." With that, he bowed his head and gave up his spirit" (John 19:30). Both phrases can be interpreted as "it is
finished." In fact, Jesus told His disciples: "This is what I told you while I was still with you: Everything must be fulfilled that is written about me in
the Law of Moses, the Prophets and the Psalms" (Luke 24:44). And, this is why so many say the Psalms are Jesus words. Everything about Jesus life was prophesied in
specific Books of the Old Testament. In the beginning of the Psalm, David, the writer, is feeling abandoned by his God, he feels God is not even hearing him: "Why
