implemented often poses the greatest threat in its desire to dominate powerful states and people. Cultural differences are at the core of nationalism as it existed between Quebec and
the rest of Canada. Economic change must have cultural conformity in order to exist; in turn, the desire for such conformity is what ultimately encourages nationalism. One can
readily argue that it is here where Anthanase and Paul felt the most overwhelmed when it came to addressing social forces greater than their individual abilities, inasmuch as all too
often what also comes with the concept of nationalism and cultural conformity is the requirement of just one culture. This is where conflict begins, when people are not permitted
to follow their own cultural beliefs in the name of nationalism. Anthanase accused his homeland of imposing nationalistic idioms upon his people, which became the cause of much struggle
