people have the same intelligence profile. Gardner states "We can either ignore those differences and teach everybody the same stuff in the same way and assess everybody in the
same way, or we can say, `Look, people learn in different kinds of ways, and they have different intellectual strengths and weaknesses. Lets take that into account in how we
teach and how we assess" (Weiss, 1999). As Gardner explains it, his theory of multiple intelligences is a psychological theory about the mind. He says it is
a critique of the notion that there is a single intelligence that each one of us is born with that cant be changed or that psychologists can measure. It
is based on a lot of scientific research in fields ranging from psychology to biology. Most intelligence tests, according to Gardner, look at language or logic or both.
And those are actually just two of the intelligences. There are six more that are musical, spatial, bodily/kinesthetic, interpersonal, intrapersonal and naturalist (Weiss, 1999). Educators can make the most
of these intelligences by teaching to each type. When an educator goes into topics deeply so that students can make use of their knowledge in new situations, then the
theory of multiple intelligences can be extremely helpful in most cases. Topics can be approached in many different ways. For instance, a teacher can provide analogies and metaphors
