skills are necessary. Hypothermia is one area where information can save lives. First, it is important for any Boy Scout troop or other group to make sure that they are
prepared. Anyone on a camping trip should be in good physical health and travel with others ("Hypothermia," 2007). Multiple layers of clothing which fit loosely are also recommended ("Hypothermia," 2007).
Hypothermia is a condition that is common for those hikers or campers who are not adequately dressed ("Hypothermia," 2004). While being prepared for hypothermia, and learning ways to treat the
problem, is good, it should be said that most healthy victims recover rather quickly ("Hypothermia," 2007). Still, it is prudent to be educated in the treatment of this condition as
it is life-threatening. Hypothermia refers to a situation where body temperature falls to a range of 95 to 89.9 degrees Fahrenheit ("Hypothermia," 2007). If the body temperature drops below that
level, the individual should be sent to the hospital immediately ("Hypothermia," 2007). Of course, part of the problem with treating victims in the midst of a hiking excursion is that
there is usually not a hospital nearby. Therefore, steps must be taken to treat victims of hypothermia immediately until help arrives. In many cases, victims will not need to go
to the hospital anyway. Yet, if the case is severe, the best ting to do is to treat the victim while sending for help in some form. It might
be that a medical helicopter is necessary in certain situations. These are becoming more and more popular when accidents or medical incidents occur in places which are hard to reach
