provides ways in which humans can get close to Him. But a further contemplation of the title, or rather the subtitle which is " A Guide for the 20th-Century Pagan"
tells the reader from the start that the book does not come from a religious perspective. In fact, it is determined to be a guide for the pagan or someone
who does not believe in God or at least is skeptical. How to Think About God is the quintessential religious volume for agnostics. In fact, this book is so
logical, it attracts anyone who doubts Gods existence no matter what religious background they are from. While much of the information provided is questionable, the author does prompt one to
explore his or her own belief systems. The author draws on old notions, and in fact goes back to Aristotles day when proofs of God were relevant. Today, that is
far from the case. God is seen as wholly associated with mainline religion. It seems as if Jewish temples and Christian churches have a monopoly on God and to believe
anything other than concepts to emanate from an approved religion is ridiculous. In fact, taking the concept of God and analyzing it can be blasphemous according to some sects. In
general, people who explore concepts about God that do not conform to particular religious precepts are seen as unbelievers. Those who do so in a large forum are deemed as
being a part of a cult. It seems that the true "searcher" cannot win when it comes to God, which is perhaps why Adler wrote this work. Today, belief in
