so did all the technological advances that came before it (Liebowitz, 2002). Woodall (2000) commented that information technology "is revolutionising [sic] the way we communicate, work, shop and play." Technology
and the Internet have had a dramatic impact on every part of human life and business. There is barely an appliance or machine that does not use at least one
computer chip. Some things are so common today, such as scanning prices in a store, that we do not even associate the practice with computers and information technology. Our drivers
licenses have a magnetic strip that includes information about the driver, credit cards are swiped quickly to pay for purchases, cash is available at machines and so on. These are
just everyday occurrences to most of us today. Technology is responsible for allowing otherwise unemployable persons with certain kinds of disabilities to be gainfully employed (Cohn, 2000). Computer programs
can change speech into text and can even turn speech into Braille (Cohn, 2000). Technology allows a disabled person to communicate with a customer or client first by e-mail thus,
eliminating any bias a person may gain by seeing the disability instead of the person (Cohn, 2000). Computers, fax machines, the Internet and e-mail have streamlined many work tasks, increasing
productivity and accuracy (Cohn, 2000). In todays business world, video-conferencing allows individuals to hold virtual meetings when people are located thousands of miles away. Advanced communication technology creates the true
