This paper considers the ways in which feminism threatens male control of society. Discussion The word "threatens" is probably a poor choice, because feminists are not out to destroy men
or society, but simply to have equal rights. Jane Galvin Lewis notes that a person doesnt have to be anti-man to be pro-woman; in 1913, Rebecca West noted "I myself
have never been able to find out precisely what feminism is: I only know that people call me a feminist whenever I express sentiments that differentiate me from a doormat,
or a prostitute" (Lewis, 2009). Other statements about feminism indicate that it is a fight for justice and that it should matter to everyone, not just women, for any group
that is systematically discriminated against is part of a society that is malfunctioning. Some people suggest that there has been a lot of progress and now is the time
to stop struggling; the same argument has been made to African Americans. While there is no doubt that some progress has been made, equality is very far off: "When we
talk about equal pay for equal work, women in the workplace are beginning to catch up. If we keep going at this current rate, we will achieve full equality in
about 475 years. I dont know about you, but I cant wait that long" (Lewis, 2009). Not only do women constantly lag behind men by up to 25% in wages
