industry, however, just as with consumer goods the cycle can change at different rates according to the taste and fashions that are in society at the time. For example, while
many fashion change by the season there are also classics such as the little black dress that have been in fashion for many years, while other fashions have come and
gone. The idea of identity and obsolescence can be seen in the way that the cycles take place, where there is the creation of an identify or the association
or desire for that identity designs or styles may become more fashionable, where they are seen as not longer desirable they are interpreted as obsolescence these may be lead socially
or as a result of the fashion industry. Blumer (1969) argued that there were long and short term cycles, in the long term cycles each fashion run may be seen
as a secular, occurring only once in each age or century. However, in the shorter term there were repetitive cycles (Blumer, 1969). If we look at the aspect of
