Essay / Research Paper Abstract

10 pages in length. Delving more deeply into the issue of homelessness compels one to focus upon more than merely one or two areas why such a social phenomenon continues to exist in contemporary society. From corporate downsizing to the cyclical nature of poverty and mental illness to spousal abuse, homelessness is representational of myriad social components that – even in the twenty-first century - are not being addressed in an effective manner. Agencies are content to pass the buck back and forth, while public perception is both skewed and intolerant of the reality, and legislation tries to fix the problem by creating a new Amendment. Wherein the answer might exist continues to elude all aspects of today's society. Bibliography lists 14 sources.
