the war was the Holocaust and the many Jews who were killed under Hitlers rule. Furthermore, it is important to note that Hitlers goal was to design an Aryan
race, which meant that all non-Aryans were to be exterminated. This included vast numbers of Jews but it also included millions of people who were not Jews but were
not Aryans either. Hitler foretold of his plans in his book called Mein Kampf. This book essentially outlined his plans for Germany and for the elimination of
all Jews and other non-Aryans. Much of what Hitler wrote in Mein Kampf obviously did indeed come to pass and with it came the elimination of untold numbers of
victims - all in the name of ethnic cleansing. When viewing this from a historical perspective it almost seems unreal. It seems impossible that an ideology based on such
shallow support could have flourished to the point in which it did. It seems unimaginable that peoples lives, their homes, their children, their families, their businesses, their friends, their
futures - all taken away because they didnt fit the picture Hitler had created of what characteristics the perfect race would possess. Furthermore, how ironic that Hitler himself was
lacking many of these qualities. The Aryan race was a race of basically blond, blue-eyed Germans who had identifiable blood lines which could be traced to German, Aryan
descendents. Hitler himself had black hair and lacked the "breeding" necessary to be a true Aryan. In any case, it is important to understand a bit
