interpretation and sects of the religion. The following paper examines this condition as well as asking the question of whether or not the Bhagavad-Gita answers the problem of warfare.
Hindu: Variety and the Bhagavad-Gita The student requesting this essay asks, "How does the variety of usages of Hindu scripture in the
past and present mirror the variety of Hindu religion?" As mentioned in the introduction, any religion will generally see many different levels and perspectives in relationship to interpretation and practice
within the religion. The scripture can and is interpreted in many ways, with many followers focusing on one scripture and its importance and another group doing something with a different
scripture. One author notes the complexity of the religion stating, The brilliant ancestors of present-day indians explored the Truth behind our existence
and gave several philosophies and theories to define the Truth. At the same time, they created a set of rules for good living on this earth" (Hinduism: the Worlds Oldest
Religion, 2006). This simple illustration covers all of history, in relationship to the religion, and clearly indicates that there is great room for variety and diversity within the religion.
