Methodology Because the subject is so broad, it seemed the best thing to do was to use an academic data base (Academic Search Premier) and simply search for "hieroglyphics." That brought up over 200 hits; narrowing it to "Egyptian hieroglyphics" narrowed it to ten, of which six seemed appropriate. Moving then to elibrary and using "hieroglyphics" again provided the rest of the material. Much of it deals with Egypt; some of the articles are about the Mayan civilization and there are others mixed in. It provides a very wide range of information. Annotated Bibliography Abdi, K. (2002). An Egyptian cippus of Horus in the Iran National Museum, Tehran. Journal of Near Eastern Studies, 61, 203. This article describes an object that is currently housed in the Iran National Museum in Tehran, and discusses its cultural and historical significance. Information discovered thus far indicates that it was found at Susa, and dates to the Saite period.
