is perhaps the most famous work that involves Henry V and it is a play that has been played by many a stage and screen actor. The following paper briefly
summarizes and reviews Shakespeares play and then compares and contrasts the 1944 film version starring Laurence Olivier and the 1989 film version starring Kenneth Branagh. Shakespeare As mentioned,
the story of Henry V is one that involves the pursuit to possess ones rightful place in the world. It is the story of Henry Vs determination to make others
realize that he is the rightful heir to the throne of France. The entire play essentially focuses on the fact that Henry is going to war to ensure that they
listen and heed his rightful claim. At first he is unsure if he should risk it, but he is informed that if he takes only one fourth of his troops,
leaving the others behind to protect the city, then he will prove victorious against France. Throughout the play we see the plans develop and eventually war comes into play
with Henry V losing only a small amount of men while the French lost many. Finally Henry V and King Charles meet and discuss the legitimacy of Henry Vs claim.
It is decided that Henry V is the legal heir to the throne and Henry V insists that Charles co sign many documents so that when King Charles dies there
will be no doubt as to who should be the king of France. At the same time we note that Henry V is also wooing King Charles daughter, Catherine. In
