were as well as the average citizens impressions. It will also address how the National Press may be responsible for any differences between Thompsons impressions and those of the average
citizen and how Thompson helped clarify those discrepancies. 1. Thompsons Final Impressions Thompson will admit the motorcycle gang is not only extremely violent but unpredictable in who they would
attack and who their next victim would be. This made them all the more terrifying, he said. However, "there was a certain pleasure," he writes, "in sharing the Angels amusement
at the stir they created" (Thompson, p. 246). He rode with them, he drank with them and he partied with them. All the while he was recording their sexual and
violent behavior and he started to lose track of what exactly it was he was doing. He writes, "I was no longer sure whether I was doing research on the
Hells Angels or being slowly absorbed by them (Thompson, p. 45)." Thompson reveals to the reader that an Angel has been injured so often that he is indifferent to pain.
