deliver care. Indeed, many argue that the political concerns over health care largely stem from how health care is managed on the business side of the issue. For instance, it
is said that the rampant costs of health care, often tied to inefficient practices and low quality of care on the part of the organizations themselves, contribute to the high
insurance premiums that have led to a considerable dearth of health care access this century. This being the case, this paper will look at the management of health care organizations,
and how they might become better organized in the 21st century paradigm, through the lowering of costs, as well as increasing quality of care. When questioning how to improve health
care in the 21st century, one should come to an immediate realization. Health care is fundamentally a business model that is driven by technology; the product it sells is the
technological capacity to prevent or cure disease, or to restore well-being to the human body through the learned application of technology. It stands to reason then, that an embrace of
21st century technology should be a key starting point in moving towards a more efficient and effective health care administration and management model. That being said, there is no doubt
that information technology is by far the most significant form of technology to emerge in the last several decades. Now, information technology is all but ubiquitous in homes, businesses, and
