using his film to illustrate two separate but related ideas: that nothing is what it seems, and that inanimate objects can rebel. Discussion "Dada" is the name given to a
movement that began in Zurich, Switzerland, as a "response to World War I" (Art history: Dadaism (1916-1924), 2006). It was an "anti-art" movement, since it "rejected the way art was
appreciated and defined in contemporary art scenes" (Art history: Dadaism (1916-1924), 2006). Dadaism had no unifying aesthetics, but Dadaists came together because they shared a "nihilistic attitude towards the traditional

tries to fire a gun with his eyes closed; his target is another man who falls to pieces without a shot being fired. The first man throws away his gun
only to have it multiply into a pile of guns. A number of men grab for the floating hats and an entire procession of men disappears into a lamppost. Toward
