the Sunni Muslims, this is a well established much of Islam, with the Sunnis taking its name from the importance of the Sunna; these are examples which are taken from
the hadiths. Within Saudi Arabia there is a great deal of importance attached to the interpretation of Islamic law, with Islamic law and the interpretation of the Quran and the
hadiths forming the basis of social structures and societal values. Sunni Islam sees the interpretation of the hadiths which are believed to be a central element in the understanding of
the truth of the religion. The hadiths were the interpretations that were given by the prophets companions. In any society there
needs to be a source of law, a codified set of standards or values which dictates the way in which individuals were in a society are expected to behave.
When this takes place within a religious structure the values and expected standards reflective of the standards that believers believe to be right and the will of God. The had
this form the basis of the interpretation and created Shiite law. Within the Sunni Islam faith this was the religious orientation of the rulers.
The differences between the Sunni and Shiite branches of Islam developed over a number of centuries, for many years the difference between Sunni and Shiite was defined by the
Sunnis adherence to the Caliph being the leader of the Islamic world. However, there were small differences as well as agreement in three core Islamic doctrines; these are the
