and every generation because they speak of very human conditions, realities that do not seem to have changed, as they relate to mankind, since perhaps the beginning of time. One
play which presents us with many timeless themes is Hamlet. In this story we have many conditions of man that are as relevant today as they were in the time
of Shakespeare. In the following paper we examine why Hamlet is a timeless story. Hamlets Timelessness First and foremost we have Hamlet, a son who has just lost his
father. The death of a parent is clearly a very timeless theme and we are not surprised to note that Hamlet is not sure how to mourn or where to
go. He is lost and is having difficulty dealing with his fathers death. This is not something that is only particular to Shakespeares time, but something that is relevant to
all times. We can sympathize with this young man who is confused and lost. When Hamlet learns that his father was killed by his new step-father, the king, we
see that vengeance is in order. That is another classic theme in humanity. If someone were to have killed one of our parents we would surely seek some way to
punish them, to sort out the truth, to see an end to the evil that was done. Revenge is a timeless theme, and also a theme that brings with it
many conflicting emotions as we often see in Hamlet. We watch Hamlet go through many changes as he tries to define the need for vengeance, and the best way to
