An 8 page paper which compares and contrasts Hamlet and The Odyssey. These two classic tales were written in completely different times in history, as well as completely different regions of the world, and as such they are incredibly different in almost all aspects of consideration. Some of the aspects of the tales that are discussed include intent, substance, focus, cultural perspectives, and beliefs. Perhaps the most obvious difference between the two is that Hamlet is a tale of incredible depth and introspection while The Odyssey is primarily a tale of adventure and intrigue. stories which, when compared to one another, are incredibly different in many ways as they deal with different cultural aspects and varying beliefs. But they are also tales of the
search for some kind of truth. In discussing these two stories, this paper compares and contrasts the main characters, as well as the circumstances and experiences that occur within the
individual tales. In doing this we also discuss the focus, intent, substance, cultural aspects, and varying beliefs that exist within each story. The primary focus of each of these
tales is incredibly different in many ways. The main male character in Hamlet, who is Hamlet, is a man faced with the ghosts of his past. He is a man
who is torn between the horrors of what he sees around him, and the internal struggle which urges him to do something about the atrocities. We watch as Hamlet slowly
goes insane, or at least pretends to go insane, and we see the story and the truth unfold around these events. It is an intense story that builds to a
final battle where the truths are known and evil is punished. the primary focus of The Odyssey involves the search for one man, and the tales of this one mans
adventure. The man is Odysseus and his adventures are legendary. He is not a man searching for the truth in relationship to experiences that have occurred around him, but is
rather a man who desires to explore and experience. The only similarity that may be found, in relationship to the focus of each tale, may well lie in the fact
that in the end of the story the truths are revealed and those that have apparently done wrong, are punished. Of course in Hamlet, the main character does not live
