There are two main techniques for hair extensions, the attachment of individual strands and wefts (Shelton and Robert-Edwards, 2006). Where individual strands are to be connected, this may be the preferred method of extensions for many as it can be argued as the most flexible appearing to be naturally long hair. This allows for the user to treat the hair as if it were their own, styling it as if it were naturally long hair and may also give a perception of a more natural feel.
