situations will be presented which encompass pregnancy. The first situation would be a young woman, age 17, telling her parents that she is pregnant. The second situation would be the
girl telling her boyfriend that she is pregnant. The last situation is both sets of parents talking to one another about the situation. THE ROLE PLAY CHARACTERS
Mr. and Mrs. Brown are a middle class African American family who have a nice home in the suburbs. Mr. Brown works as a property appraiser and Mrs.
Brown is s school teacher at the local elementary school. Their son, Cedric, has recently been dating a young white girl from the highschool, named Celia.
Mr. and Mrs. Jellin are an upper middle class white couple, living in a privately gated community. Mr. Jellin is a general practitioner and Mrs. Jellin is a
coordinator for a local non-profit organization. Their daughter, Celia, has been dating a nice young African American boy from the local highschool where they both attend.
Celia Jellin has been daing Cedric Brown for almost a year. Here, on the eve of graduation, Celia finds that she is pregnant. Having always experienced a life of
privilege she approaches her parents to explain her dilemma. "Mom. Dad. Please sit down, I have something to tell you." With a worried look
in their eyes they sit down in their den, on the couch. "Celia, you know you can tell us anything. If it is drugs, or bad grades, or..."
