Following are answers to questions pertaining to human resources information systems (HRIS). A Fortune 500 company conducting business on four (4) continents,
with diverse product lines, and having 5,000 employees globally has decided to purchase an HRIS system. They believe by purchasing an HRIS system they can reduce operating costs and increase
employee productivity. As the Vice President of Human Resources, you have been asked to recommend the purchase of one of two (2) possible HRIS systems. Identify two HRIS systems in
the marketplace and include a five-point comparison of benefits and applications relative to the companys goals of reducing operating costs and increasing employee productivity.
The goal of any human resources information system software is to seamlessly integrate the many tasks of HR into an easy-to-access, secure-storage system. The basics that need to
be included in any type of HRIS include tracking time off and attendance, performance evaluations, salary and job history, training records and improvement and payroll management (though this latter would
probably be directed to the accounting department). Because the organization highlighted here is a Fortune 500 corporation with a large workforce, the systems well be analyzing are HRMS Solutions and
