is to define exactly what job it is the person recruited is to perform. In this company it may be the need to operate specific equipment of have particular qualifications
to undertake a task, but this needs to be defined onto a job description. In defining the job we will be identifying the task and how it should be achieved.
However, this should be more than simply a job description in terms of task; there is also the need for quantitative and qualitative measures that can be used and applied
to all. The required standards should be well defined and laid down, possibly in the employee hand book, but in an areas where the standards are not only visible,
but also seen and heard. For example, if an employee is working a fast food chain there will be standards that define who quickly the customers should be served, this
is a target that all of the staff have to work together to meet, but there will also be other standards, such as the time take to grill a burger
and to dress a bun, as well as standards regarding quality. This is a simple example, but demonstrates the way that the standards that are achievable ad expected by all
should be incorporated into the job and the training as well as monitoring. The standards that are set need to be achievable
