Essay / Research Paper Abstract
A 9 page paper discussing some of the problems that the self employed face in dealing with their own HR issues. Much of the paper is an interview with an entrepreneur based in Raleigh, North Carolina, who began working from her car trunk in 1976 to sell her business 20 years later. As the entrepreneur suggests, ignorance of employment law can be problematic for the self employed. All need to ensure that they learn at least the basics of what is acceptable and what is not. the 20 years that her business grew from the trunk of her car to a 30,000-foot facility housing 57 employees. Benefits of Self Employment

Certainly there are advantages to working for someone else, either for the government or in the private sector. Continuous employment is not as certain now as in the
past, but generally it is safe to assume that if the job exists at the end of one work day, it also will exist at the beginning of the next.
