As the automobile became more popular, "motor lodges" sprung up to offer the weary traveler a clean comfortable bed and a safe
place to stay for the night that offered some protection from the elements (and that was better than a car). From those lodges of the 1920s and 1930s, we
have today all types of hotels ranging from the roadside motel all the way up to the five-star luxury resort. This business
is a fairly competitive one, and like other businesses and industries, suffered in the wake of 9-11 and the current recession from falling consumer spending and other factors. Because
of this, hotels are restructuring and they are also finding new ways to boost customer service, which is one of the few ways in which these hotels can offer any
type of competitive advantage. TRENDS Experts have noticed that the main factors impacting hotel success into globalization, technology, changes in customer expectations,
horizontal/vertical integration and even differences in competition (Aksu and Tarcan, 2002). Customer expectations especially our impacting hotels -- their expectations have basically become higher than in the past, and hotels
