(i.e., the organization), the human resources department finds itself in charge of employees, also known as "human capital" in some places. As a result, there is a multi-pronged approach to
working with employees, and ensuring that the right employee ends up in the right position. In this paper, well examine a
four-pronged approach of employee management as it pertains to an insurance agent. Well take a look at this from the job analysis, through the selection process, into employee orientation and
concluding with training for improvement. Job analysis is the first step, as its essential to know what the job is about and
what it will entail before the company can actually go out and hire someone to take the position. A better understanding of the job means a better understanding of the
right employee for it. The selection process relies on both the interview process and testing to determine the best person for the job. Employee orientation is the step that introduces
the employee to the company -- and introduces the company to the employee in a mutually interactive method. Finally, training for improvement helps an employee hone his/her skills in the
