in a newspaper article. Sometimes mentioning a very obscure detail is enough of a hook to make the introduction interesting. However, the last sentence of the introduction should have something
along the line of the thesis, which the student may fashion to read something like this: In most of Hemingways earlier works, his treatment of women would be hailed by
modern day feminists as sexist, demeaning, and stereotypically insulting to women. Point One: The first point would be to take the story Indian Camp and to give a quick two
or three line synopsis of the story. Then, there would be at two or three points which illustrate how women in this piece are treated. Point Two: The same type
of treatment would be done for A soldiers Home, providing a synopsis and several illustrations of the womens role in the story. Point Three: This is generally the point at
which the student would want to insert any written criticisms of the works, or of the way women are treated in Hemingways works, or perhaps his or her own criticism
