the United States has the best health care available in the world, only a few of those who are lucky can take advantage of it.
This paper will examine the current Health Care Resolution Act, also known as Concurrent Resolution. The bill was introduced to the House of Representatives by Representative John
Conyers (D) of Michigan in April, 2001. Conyers was the original chair of the Universal Health Care Task Force. This paper will
attempt to examine the bill, discuss where it currently is in the legislative process and also determine how lobbyists and PAC money are working hard to defeat such initiatives and
others like them. Before beginning, however, here is some important general legislation (both state and federal) to help better promote the understanding
of how bills are introduced and passed. The senators representing the state of Oklahoma are Don Nickles (R) and James Inhofe (R)
(Cabenela, 2002). Federal representatives are John Sullivan (R); Brad Carson (D); Wes Watkins (R); J.C. Watts, Jr. (R); Ernest J. Istook, Jr. (R) and Frank D. Lucas (R) (Cabenela, 2002).
