on health care delivery. Explain the role of governmental regulatory agencies and its impact on the health care industry. Governmental regulatory
agencies in health care are charged with ensuring that the industry does no harm to the patient - whether that "harm" be denial of care or unsafe conditions. For example,
there are regulatory agencies responsible for oversight of nursing homes and skilled nursing centers - and these homes/centers are supposed to undergo analysis every year or two to ensure that
patients are getting the best of care. However, implementing these regulations seems to be an issue - there are frequently news reports about some nursing home that violated governmental rules
and regulations, leading to complaints of everything from elder abuse to unsafe (and unclean) surroundings. Passing the regulations is one thing. Enforcing them seems to be another.
